Randon

Given that there are an estimated 21,000 excess deaths from lung cancer associated with exposure to radon, how would you develop a national awareness campaign? Name some of your potential collaborators (stakeholders).

I would first start by doing my research and finding out what my target audience should be, where they are located, and the best way to reach them.  Social media can be a really useful tool so I would want to utilize social media to spread our message to people all over the world.  I would want to get someone famous to get on board and who can help spread the word and be an ambassador for the campaign and help with donations towards the cause.  I would also want to reach my audience using a number of different avenues such as rallies, billboards, commercials, items such as shirts and stickers.  One thing that I would hope that I could do is to offer free test kits to anyone who wants one so people can test their homes and fix the issue if it is identified.
I would want my collaborators to be companies that are already well established and have an interest in the cause.  I would want to partner with an organization that can assist with educating the public on the issue.  People should know what it is, how it enters homes, the extremely harmful effects it can have on your body, and most importantly, what they can do about it.  Two big stakeholders that I would want is the American Lung Association and the city public health department.  I anticipate having both of those stakeholders support would make a big difference in the campaign success because they are reputable and can hopefully provide funding to support the campaign.
